Women Protection Cell of Vignan Institute of Information Technology is established to improve understanding of issues relating to women and to create a safe environment on campus for female teachers, staff, and students. The cell plans and participates in discussions and seminars with the goal of raising awareness of women's rights and responsibilities. It also addresses concerns and challenges specific to women. Additionally, it gives women a forum on which to express their opinions and experiences regarding their place in society as well as suggestions for methods to develop and empower themselves.

The cell stands for promoting women's empowerment through guest lectures, seminars, awareness campaigns, life skills training programs, entrepreneur training, and other means in order to uplift the female students intellectually and socially.

Roles and Responsibilities of WEPC:

The Women Empowerment and Protection Cell functions with the following purposes towards lady faculty and girl students.

• To create awareness amongst students about the problems faced by women of all strata due to gender issues.
• To create an environment of gender justice where men and women work together with a sense of personal security and dignity.
• To create awareness amongst students about the issues related to the youth, girls in particular.
• To disseminate knowledge about rights and laws related to women.
• To create a sense of responsibility in the students and have healthy study and work culture in all schools of the institute.
• To enhance the self-esteem and self-confidence of girl students, women faculty and staff in the institute.
• To provide opportunities to girl students and women employees to participate in and interact at conference etc., related to gender issue.
• To meet the objective, the cell aims at implementing various programs to impart ethical, empowerment and protection of women including health and nutrition care.
