STUDENT ACTIVITY COUNCIL

Vignan's Institute of Information Technology(VIIT) truly believes that in a student's life, education is not solely about academics, theoretical studies, lectures and seminars but also about learning many more important social consciousness and life skills like leadership skills, Group dynamics, Emotional balance etc., which are considered to be highly essential elements for a student to transform into successful engineer and help the society . To ensure and imbibe above skills and sharpening of minds, the students of VIIT have Developed their own student body: “The Student Activity Council (SAC) by the students, for the students and of the students”.


The Student Activity Council of members is elected annually from, among the nominees and selections are done through a democratic process involving a panel of faculty members and student representatives drawn from across all departments. It has a President, Vice Presidents, General Secretary, and two Joint Secretaries, supported by a sub-structure of various committees Co-ordinators, who plan, organize and execute a plethora of Co and Extracurricular events and competitions in campus. SAC has emerged truly on the distinct determination and inseparable co-ordination of the students in working towards their success.

Here in VIIT, SAC aids in providing meaningful and enjoyable, social, cultural and educational programs and events that appeal and are accessible to the widest group of students possible, both on and off campus.

Student Activity Council ensures the students that their journey in this campus is not just filled with intellectual studies but with more involvement of passion, interests and creativity. SAC extends its roots to every student who wants to develop professionally, socially, contribute to a team and be inspiringly successful.

SAC is diversified even into various departments, leading to a tension free and peaceful work atmosphere by conducting team logistics, event management, technical controls through media and public relations and literary, cultural, fine arts activities.

Student Activity Council is established to be a platform with fostering leadership, Managerial skills and Group dynamics. This is a stage where people with vivid as well as similar mindsets come together , initiate, discuss, share, and present their ideas. This council also envisions in students being able to manage and maintain good relations, networking and adapt the culture of work streams. Following a typical framework and conventional functioning policies, the student activity council is active on a daily basis to keep up the spirits of the inhabitants of the campus. Thus, the student activity council being the most happening student body, is gripped as the backbone for all student activities and has grown , is growing and will grow to be the most efficient, reliable , effective student body. VIIT's student activity council works according to its motto that there are no secrets to success. It's the “preparation, hard work and learning from failure."

Planning and Execution of Institution clubs:

The best way to ever experience the vast spectrum of activities would be to join the various clubs .These clubs will help students to meet other enthusiasts and experts in the fields and thus create a perfect learning environment. Making the clubs as a huge bank of collective knowledge which is passed from one batch to another.

There are five major clubs such as Cultural, Literary, Sports , Movie and Green club which are overseen by the Student Activity Council of the Institution.

In addition to the conduction of club activities various events will be planned by the Student Activities council. On this regard an activity calendar of all the training activities organized under clubs and other activities will be interspersed by the Student Activity Council and it ensures their execution as per the schedule. 1. Radhakrishnan Literary Club

Literature gives wings to students who are enthusiastic and have a love for languages. The literary club is a paradise and inculcating a fondness for language among students and enhancing their critical thinking, reading, and writing skills. It is the place where students are free to think, read and write on the topics of their interest and choice, share their insights on politics, philosophy, spirituality, philanthropy etc. It strives in developing an unbounded and strong platform to bring overall development of the students. It not only commits itself to the English language but discovers new vistas for the mother tongue and national language also. The committee provides opportunities to students to improve the confidence to express themselves very ease. The Faculty -in-charge of the Radha Krishna literary club along with the student coordinators organise several activities to boost the self-confidence of the students.



Objectives of the Club

  • To conduct competitions such as Essay Writing competitions, Debate and Declamation, Elocution, Extempore, Poetry writing, JAM and Group discussions.
  • To conduct and attend inter and intra mural literary events
  • To encourage students to make literary contributions to the Institute magazines in the form of articles, poetry and other write-ups.
  • To display newspaper clippings and thought for the day on the Temple of learning.
2. Lata Mangeshkar Cultural Club

Performing arts greatly helps in physical, mental, emotional, and academic growth. Vignan undertakes the responsibility to engage the mind, the body, and the emotions of the students to allow them to explore and express great themes and ideas through their performances. Vignan imparts different dance forms like Indian Classical, Indian Folk, Western dance & Fusion dance for the students. Vignan hosts every year “YUVATARANG”, a Intra college, and Inter-college youth festival and cultural carnival. It is one of the major events to enhance creativity, confidence, self-discipline, and the ability to work in teams. Its main aim is to shape our students in all best possible ways. Cultural committee works in coordination with other related committees and regularly conducts various cultural activities for the students in order to exhibit their own talents. The various cultural events conducted under cultural committee are:



  • Singing - Classical, Light, Folk (Solo & Group).
  • Dance - Classical, Folk, Western (Solo & Group).
  • Instrumental - Flute, Tabla, Piano, Veena etc.
  • Mono Action, Miming, Dialogue Delivery, Skit, Mimicry.
  • Choreography, Traditional Show, Drama.
  • Any other creative Entertainment Event.
Objectives of the Club

  • To get ample opportunity to sharpen their co-curricular skills.
  • To participate in different activities and competitions at the District, State, and National levels.
3. Dhyan Chand Sports Club

Sports Club Activities in College, play such a vital role that can change a student’s perception and life incredibly forever Through regular active healthy physical activities, students not only build a healthy body but also have the potential to show improved performance in college. We all know that a healthy body makes a healthy mind which is a terrific benefit of sports clubs. And when the mind of the student is healthy, he can excel in educational achievement. Moreover, sports constitute a long-term commitment to the student which is seriously needed to succeed in life. However, in competitive environments, students often reinforce themselves in training and matches. This extra effort improves levels of physical fitness. Physical fitness ensures a sound state of mind. Today students’ involvement in Sports on Campus is something that seems inevitable for highly potential benefits. For example- the benefits of physical fitness can ensure mental well-being that protects them from some life-threatening diseases like diabetes, heart disease, etc. The player can make strong his temperament. He/she also dealt with various emotional times, slagging, and adverse moments. Students in sports gain professionalism in addressing these issues and develop leadership qualities, discipline, punctuality, a sense of brotherhood, team spirit, problem-solving, and more.

Vignan understand the importance of sports in developing traits like confidence, leadership and team spirit among the students. The Sports Club at VIIT involves its students in the games like Basketball, Volleyball, Cricket, Football, Badminton, Table Tennis and etc. Sports Club at VIIT organises several Inter and Intra College Competition regularly.

A special course in sports and fitness is made part of curriculum at VIIT.

4. Amitabh Bachchan MOVIE club

“Fine arts helps students to see what they look at, hear what they listen to, and feel what they touch.”

“Art is the desire of a human being to express him/herself, to record the reactions of his personality to the world he lives in”. The fine arts provide learners with non-academic benefits such as promoting self-esteem, motivation, aesthetic awareness, cultural exposure, creativity, improved emotional expression, as well as social harmony and appreciation of diversity. These are the very fibres of the fabric known as our country culture. The fine art caters to the needs of those students who have an aptitude for music and to express their thoughts, feelings and creativity through the various visual art forms from two dimensions to three dimensions. To tap the inherent talents and potentials of the student community at all levels of life. VIIT intends to uphold the relative merits of the students and to expose them to the higher order society who would in turn bring laurels to the institution by constant motivation and encouragement. Students are encouraged to participate in inter collegiate and other competition through fine arts.

Objectives of the Club

  • Develop and demonstrate skills in critical and analytical thinking through effective speaking, writing and performing on topics in the fine arts.
  • Create, perform and experience work in a variety of art forms with a high level of comprehension and appreciation.
  • To bring the latent talents of the students to limelight.
  • To create awareness, educate, nurture and inculcate a culture of innovation amongst the engineering student.
  • To enable them to generate new ideas and become more innovative.
  • To organize Interdisciplinary project exhibition
5. Medha Patkar Green Club

It is a forum through which students can reach out to influence, engage their parents and neighbourhood communities to promote sound environmental behaviour. It will empower students to explore environmental concepts and actions beyond the confines of a syllabus or curriculum.

Eco clubs will empower students to participate and take up meaningful environmental activities and projects. Activities like Plantation Drive, Swachhata Awareness day, Painting Competitions, Poster Presentation, Essay Writing competition and many others are conducted under the Eco club. Even during the pandemic situation, activities were conducted through virtual mode to create awareness of biodiversity conservations and local environmental issues among the students. The Green Club which has the student members, strives to develop love of nature and adventure and to instil awareness of the environment in the college community. It works for the upliftment and conservation of trees and makes people aware of environmental problems such as deforestation, land degradation, water pollution, and global warming caused by imprudent greed’s of humans.

Objectives of the Club

  • The Green Club aims to educate members about environmental issues and topics of conservation, bring students and faculty members together to discuss pressing ecological issues and host events, volunteer and assist in “green” campus initiatives, and connect with the local community in “green” projects.
  • To motivate the students to keep their surroundings clean.
  • To educate waste management.
  • To organize tree plantation programmes to go green.
